Dear Member,

In the Interest of public health and to help protect our members with Down syndrome, their families and our volunteers from the spread of COVID-19 Coronavirus we have made the decision to suspend all DSL activities for the foreseeable future.

This includes Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, all extra-curricular activity, adult education classes, early intervention groups, discos and church gate collections.

DSL will not be in a position to fund raise in person for the bones of possibly 5 weeks or more. This is going to have a knock on effect especially as World Down syndrome Day is 21 March and we had many schools who were on board to host a ‘Rock your Socks’ Day. So we would urge all members to please share the post on FACEBOOK for WDSD and Rock Your Socks with our idonate page so that our funds are not hit so hard, if we can help it. We will defer the city church gate collections due to happen on March 28 and 29 and some of the county ones that happen in early April – the rest we will play by ear. If you or anyone you know can help us when and if we can hold Church gate collections we would really appreciate it.

We are in unprecedented situation and will keep members informed updated on any changes. You can still contact DSL by phone 061-334023 and email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and FACEBOOK etc.

The HSE information about the virus can be found on https://www2.hse.ie/conditions/coronavirus/coronavirus.html

Please do keep checking your email/text and our FACEBOOK Page for updates.

Stay safe everyone and we hope to see you all soon.
